Patrick McLaren: CEO of McLaren Hotels. Helicopter pilot. Part-time adrenaline junkie who treats frostbite like a mild inconvenience. The kind of man who can silence a boardroom with one raised brow.
Which is deeply unfortunate, because I, Georgie Fitzgerald, have been sent to his remote Scottish hotel to overhaul their IT systems. That means weeks of working in close proximity to him and his lethal combination of jawline, arrogance, and disdain.
And I know exactly what he thinks of me, because the man doesn't bother hiding it.
I'm his best friend's little sister—the pity hire who tanked her interview and only got the job because my big brother pulled strings. The tech gremlin occasionally allowed out of her cupboard to reset the router before being shoved back in again.
He climbs mountains for fun. I break into a sweat ordering coffee. He's brooding intensity in a bespoke suit. I'm anxious energy and catastrophic overthinking in a cardigan.
It doesn't matter how hard I work to prove myself at his company. He doesn't notice. He doesn't notice much about me at all.
Which is fine. It's not that I want his attention. It's just… I can't help being shy. I can't help that I'm still rebuilding myself after someone else tore me down. But maybe I'm tired of being anxious, apologetic, router-resetting Georgie who lives in the background, worrying about what everyone thinks. About what he thinks.
Maybe it's time to reclaim my narrative. And maybe that includes claiming him.
©2026 Rosa Lucas (P)2026 Rosa LucasZara was wonderful as Georgie, portraying perfectly Georgie's insecurities and anxiety’s but also her fun and feisty sides too, bringing a depth of emotion and feeling to the story that draws you into the character and what she’s experiencing.
Shane… what can I say? Just listen to him and you’ll know… I would honestly listen to him narrate the yellow pages and love every second of it 😂 his accents 😍 his growly tone 😍 perfection!
Both Zara and Shane together = utter perfection! Just take my money already cos I’m listening to that book!
I love Rosa’s writing style and love this series, Not mine to Love is definitely my favourite of the 3. Georgie was an easily relatable character and following her story of learning to embrace her life and recover from a bad past relationship, grieving from the loss of her aunt, regaining her confidence and finding her way in her career and personal life had me hooked. Then seeing Patrick struggle with his feelings for his best friends little sister was entertaining. Though he did treat her not so nicely at one point I think he sure made up for it in the end!
A brilliantly entertaining listen that will have you hooked throughout, laughing out loud, screaming in frustration at choices made by the characters, and melting at Patrick’s growly words!

This is Patrick and Georgie’s story. Patrick (brother of Liam) is the CEO of a hotel chain and Georgie is a coder who works in his IT department, and also the younger sister of his best mate Jake. Georgie and Patrick are opposites, he’s outgoing, outdoorsy and confident, she’s anxious, an introvert and lacking in self confidence. Georgie has a nightmare line manager, who lets her do all the work, whilst he takes all the credit loudly, and Patrick is one of those who seems to believe that the loudest voice in the room in the most intelligent.
Georgie is sent to Skye to lead the roll-out of a new IT system at the newest hotel in the chain, and whilst she is there she and Patrick have a fling. In this we have forced proximity, CEO/employee, grumpy/sunshine, age gap, and best mate’s sister. Things end badly, and get even worse once Georgie has returned to London; Patrick has to learn some hard lessons about those who do the work, and those who loudly take the credit.
Despite the obvious romance, this book is also about how a controlling relationship (not Patrick and Georgie) can affect your future life a relationships, and how some men in power are enabled to the point where their bad behaviour just becomes something people (usually women) have to find a work around for.
I really enjoyed this book, although I wish Georgie had made Patrick work a bit harder in the end, he really was awful to her.
The narrators do a really great job, and Shane’s Yorkshire accent has improved since he did Liam’s voice a couple of books ago. Zara does a really great job, as she usually does with these sorts of characters.
A great addition to the series

The narrators provided an outstanding performance, bringing the characters to life and adding depth and emotion to the listening experience. Their delivery enhanced the story and made it easy to become fully immersed in the narrative.
The pacing was excellent, the storytelling was captivating, and the overall production quality was impressive. This was a thoroughly enjoyable audiobook, and I found myself eager to continue listening while also wishing the experience would last longer.
Highly recommended for fans of the series. I am already looking forward to the next release and hope there are many more books to come.❤️❤️❤️
