'Baldacci is the master' – Jeffrey Archer

From the international bestselling sensation David Baldacci, A Minute to Midnight is the exhilirating second thriller featuring FBI Special Agent Atlee Pine.

She came home for the truth. She found a killing spree.

Thirty years ago, FBI Special Agent Atlee Pine’s twin sister, Mercy, was taken from the family home while Atlee was left for dead. The case was never solved.

When Atlee oversteps the mark on the arrest of a dangerous criminal, the FBI gives her a leave of absence – the perfect opportunity to return to where it all began, her hometown, and uncover the truth.

But when a woman's body is discovered in a local alleyway, Atlee finds herself thrust into an investigation. The murder is bizarre, ritualistic. And as the killer's ceremony escalates, Atlee uncovers long-buried secrets – and a revelation that takes her all the way back to the night Mercy vanished . . .

A Minute to Midnight is the second book in the Atlee Pine series. The action continues in Daylight.

FBI Agent Atlee Pine is a heroine I'll never forget (Tess Gerritsen, bestselling author The Spy Coast, on Long Road to Mercy)
A multi-layered protagonist; a plot as deep and twisty as the setting (Kathy Reichs, bestselling author of the Temperance Brennan series, on Long Road to Mercy)
Baldacci is still peerless
One of the all-time best thriller authors (Lisa Gardner, New York Times bestselling author of One Step Too Far)

In FBI Agent Atlee Pine, he has envisioned a new kind of heroine, forged in the fire of trauma and driven by a rare kind of strength. It should come as no shock that a thriller writer for the ages has created a character for the ages! (Gregg Hurwitz, bestselling author of Orphan X)
