Not as riveting as other Sylvia Day's novels that I have read. the narrator does a good job attempting to bring the story to life.

I loved the Crossfire Series but this duet was sadly lacking. Gianna was a sassy heroine and Jax was delicious.

Sylvia has a way of writing delicious men but apart from this, there could have been so much more to this story than he was gorgeous and they couldn't resist each other.

I would have liked more of the Vegas back story and the political intrigue, so unfortunately i found it rather bland and disappointing.

The author does well, in exposing the truth about power and what it does, to people within the high life spectrum. However, and most importantly, Jackson Rutledge is a legend!

Would you try another book written by Sylvia Day or narrated by Amy McFadden?

Rather over-rated in my view. There was really not a great deal to the story itself - strong willed beauty in restaurant trade with 'passions' involved in drawn out business negotiations involving her 'ex'. Listened to the first 60% or so then realised that actually I had a life so moved onto more entertaining listening. You know you are not enthralled when 5 minutes passes by and you are non the wiser.
