I liked the storyline and the mystery. it was on the sombre side but a happy ending

The story is predictable, with very little depth to characters and it is so long and drawn out. The delivery is ok regarding the different character voices but was so slow I was desperate to speed it up. I made it to the end by listening when needing to sleep. Even this didn't work well as I found the repetitive sentences and tediously slow delivery very irritating. The author should have written a short story instead of repeating every thought by the characters as if they were all very slow witted.
