A clergy woman claimed that if Jesus were preaching the Sermon on the Mount today, he might also say "blessed are those who end pregnancies." David McIntyre, Phillip Rich, and Jon Dzyuba push back — not with condemnation, but with Scripture. Psalm 139:13–16 says God knit each person together in the womb. Jeremiah 1:5 says God knew Jeremiah before he was formed. John 10:10 says Jesus came that we might have life. Asserting what Jesus "would have said" isn't interpretation. It's invention.

Week 6 of the BBB Reacts series opens with a clip that stopped David and Phil cold: a clergy woman confidently claiming that if Jesus were giving the Sermon on the Mount today, he might add "blessed are those who end pregnancies." Before anything else, David offers a clear pastoral disclaimer — nobody here is judging anyone who has been in that situation. Then they go to work on what Scripture actually says.

Josh McIntyre joins live to add his voice. Together the guys connect the dots between the dehumanization of the unborn and the same historical playbook used to justify slavery and the Holocaust — citing Voltaire's famous warning about absurdities and atrocities. They discuss Margaret Sanger, the cost of adoption, Planned Parenthood's placement in Black communities, and land where they always do: broken people need a Savior, and the only one who can put the pieces back together is Christ.

And yes — What's in the Cup? Jon went with banana split coffee from Good & Gather. Phillip showed up with Charleston Coffee Roasters Organic Charleston Whole Bean (and a full travelogue of Charleston, South Carolina). David brought fall energy with Autumn Delight from Red Barn.

Q: What does the Bible say about life in the womb?

A: Psalm 139 verses 13 through 16 describes God forming, knitting, and seeing every person in the womb — even at the stage of "unformed substance." Jeremiah chapter 1 verse 5 says God knew Jeremiah before he was even formed. David reads through these passages in full during the episode.

Q: Is it dangerous when pastors say what Jesus "would" say today?

A: David argues yes — there's a meaningful difference between interpreting what Scripture says and inventing what Jesus would add to it. Using the authority of Jesus to validate a modern position that contradicts his recorded words is, at best, error. At worst, it leads people away from truth.
