So THAT'S the Way to Nineveh!
A Humorous Look at the Prophet Jonah
Written and directed by Rev. Eric Buter, who portrays Jonah.
The Voice of God performed by Pastor Bam Noriega.
Play Performed: June 6, 2026
Scripture Reading comes from the Book of Jonah, Chapter 2, verse 10, Chapter 3, verses 1 through 10, and Chapter 4, verse 1.
(New International Version)
And God commanded the fish, and it vomited Jonah onto dry land. Then the word of God came to Jonah a second time: “Go to the great city of Nineveh and proclaim to it the message I give you.”
Jonah obeyed the word of God and went to Nineveh. Now Nineveh was a very large city; it took three days to go through it. Jonah began by going a day’s journey into the city, proclaiming, “Forty more days and Nineveh will be overthrown.” The Ninevites believed God. A fast was proclaimed, and all of them, from the greatest to the least, put on sackcloth.
When Jonah’s warning reached the king of Nineveh, he rose from his throne, took off his royal robes, covered himself with sackcloth and sat down in the dust.
