London summer 1918, stylish lady detective Miss Isabel Hewitt is approached by a young woman, Violet Moses, who says she is being threatened. Her husband witnessed a man being murdered at his place of work, a dental surgery in Harley Street. She cannot go to the police as it was a detective sergeant who has threatened her.
Isabel agrees to look into it, as a possible cover up may be taking place. But soon events spiral out of control and Isabel finds herself embroiled in a savage triple murder. A bronze statue of Greek Goddess Artemis may hold a clue. But Isabel has no idea why. Will she be able to unravel the case or will more people die before the killer is caught?
