It was the last week of October, just past midnight, when Luna pulled into a gas station off a county highway in eastern Wyoming. The place was called the Buckhorn Stop, and the bell on the door never stopped ringing. She went in for a bottle of water and ended up watching a man refill a coffee cup that was already full, over and over, while the bell rang and rang and no one else came in or out.
