The Lord saves us to be an influence to others, to bring glory to our Heavenly Father, and to live as salt and light. Jesus fulfilled the Law completely and showcases how true righteousness is within, not without. We also talk about how Jesus took the root of murder deep into the heart and exposed anger and contempt as destructive steps towards murder. Our speech is a mirror of our hearts, and we can’t truly worship the Lord with hearts that are not right with God.
