Having read the previous 7 books by an excellent narrator it was such a shock and let down to have this awful narration. Even changing the region where Langton came from. The narration so spoiled listening to the story. The book was also so much shorter than the previous ones so the plot wasn’t as complex. I’m seriously considering not reading the last book.

Sorry I did not enjoy the way this was written. Obviously something personal to me as I do enjoy crime fiction. This was almost like a television script.

Excellent all round. Well done Samantha Bond too, a measured and polished narration, with appropriate grit., and characters voices that didn’t distract from the great story.

Would you recommend this book to a friend? Why or why not?

I enjoyed listening to this book but it was fairly mundane. Easy to listen to. Would recommend it though if you want a fairly uncomplicated listen.
