The truth depends on who you ask...

Ten years ago, after a sun-soaked summer spent in Greece, Bess and Joni were cleared of having any involvement in their best friend Evangeline's death. But that didn't stop the media from calling them everything under the sun.

Now Joni is tangled up in a crime in LA eerily similar to that one fateful night, and when she turns up at her old friend's doorstep asking for an alibi, Bess has no choice. She still owes her.

They say the truth will set you free but can Bess face up to what happened that night?
She should know by now. You can't be an innocent woman when everyone wants you to be guilty.

Enjoyed this book and the evocative nature of the relationship/ friendship between three women and the tragic summer that shaped their adult lives. Told in both timelines - it was entertaining and somewhat thought provoking too.

Good characters and atmosphere- slightly meandering end

Story is brilliant, engaging, I like the performance overall however as someone from the UK, the fake British accent goes on my nerves. The performance could definitely do without.

Good read about friendship and youth and how things can look very different to reality and the effects on us from a tragedy and how we deal with it.

I enjoyed this book. I kept listening expecting more to be revealed. The narration was great. What I kept thinking was ‘What if she’d never told Joni about her planned reunion with Theo?’
It was a sliding doors moment - but it wasn’t ever mentioned.
Strange ending.

Kept me intrigued
