Jane isn’t who she seems to be, and that really makes sense—I’d thought to myself a few times that there had to be more to it than that. And then Maddox shows up with his clan and throws a wrench in the works. It takes a while for Jane and her Incubi to find their happy ending, and along the way there are a few unexpected twists that keep the tension high. Vic hasn’t always had the best track record as a leader, but I understand his motives, and he’s trying to make amends.
The writing style was wonderful and captivating, the world-building was great, and I was rooting for Jane the whole time. The characters were described superbly, and I could definitely understand their actions. The third volume was also absolutely captivating, exciting, entertaining, and very emotional. I suffered so much along with Jane. I found the dynamic and the development between Jane and the Irons I’s very interesting, and yes, there is a happy ending.
I’ve rarely devoured a three-book series as much as this one.
But it was also a pleasure to listen to the audiobook with the fantastic narrators. Lia Langola and Stephen Dexter narrated it, and both did a damn good job once again. They chose the right voices for the protagonists, the pacing was great, the intonation was spot-on, and you could really feel Jane’s fear as she packed her things up yet again. It was brilliantly done.
The entire series is highly recommended as an audiobook!
