Does love have a chance when no one knows she wants it?

Jinx Tanner is an ex-con trying to piece together a life on the outside and heal her relationship with her half-sister who hasn't spoken to her in over 25 years. Romantic love is nowhere on her radar. E. J. Bastien is a business executive with her life and heart under control. She has a successful career, a woman in her bed whenever she wants one, and a healthy relationship with her grown children - as long as they don't find out she's gay. She has no desire for romantic entanglements.

When these two women awaken after a one-night stand to find their lives inextricably entwined, love has its work cut out for it.

a, the malicious treatment of a child leads the child into a terrible life, but people can change, I think we all do as life throws curveballs at us, we're all affected differently. b, guilt is consuming, and affects how we both act and behave
and so both the mcs have a lot of baggage as they enter middle age, but finding each other, and help from real friends, can give both the happiness they crave and deserve.

a wonderfully written story of lifes' cause and effect, and as in life there is a lot of angst, tearing at the heart, a very emotional listen as some aspects cut deep to my own psyche.
narration too is suitable to the story and well delivered
