Overall Clare Lyndon is a good storyteller. Her storyline and writing are good quality but to anyone who knows anything much about women's football (soccer) in England and Ireland this story becomes very distracting. There are a lot of footballing inaccuracies e.g. Nike footballs are not made of leather / as the story is set in the future no player would have been part time / the lack of Irish names for Ireland's players & many, many more were issues that arose for me. I found the muddle of this fictional future, where the research was not convincing, took away from my enjoyment of the story.
To my English ears narrator, Claire Storey, did a great job. Her Irish accent sounded authentic to me and she brought the story to life.

A slow burn romance, that's an emotional journey of overcoming the past.
I thoroughly enjoyed this insight into the footie world.
