The BRAND-NEW, must-read fake dating romance from MULTI-MILLION-COPY BESTSELLER Portia MacIntosh, perfect for fans of Emily Henry, Alex Aster and B.K. Borison!

Tropes: 🤫 Fake dating 🛥 Forced proximity 🛌 Only one bed 💞 Revenge pact 🤭 Opposites attract 💖 Enemies to lovers

That ship has sailed… right?

Jessa is happily cruising through life - until her boyfriend Todd dumps her, out of the blue, at a wedding, during the first dance. She doesn’t know it but just across the room, cricket superstar Brody is also being blindsided by his girlfriend, Nikki. It suddenly makes sense in the days that follow - Todd and Nikki are now together.

Jessa wants to crawl under a rock, but with her best friend’s destination wedding on a cruise to Sicily - and her ex and his new girlfriend onboard - there’s no escape. She’s hoping the ship is big enough to avoid them but, unlucky for her, a booking mix-up means she’s sharing a two-bed suite with Todd, Nikki, and the handsome but infuriating Brody too.

With no choice but to ride out the awkwardness, Jessa and Brody hatch a plan. If they can’t win their exes back, they’ll get them back - revenge - by faking a red-hot romance of their own. That’ll show them. But the better they get at faking it - and the more undeniable their chemistry - the blurrier the line becomes. Either way, there’s going to be trouble at sea because true love is never plain sailing!

Portia Macintosh novels have become my go to comfort read when I’ll.
Always great locations
Intelligent protagonists
Witty characters
With the reassuringly predictable plot.
None of the unfortunate tendency of other “chick lit” to have awful things (or awful people) happening to the characters which may be triggering , apart from getting dumped of course!

A smarter kind of escapist fiction

Liked the obvious romantic storyline, cute and easy to listen to. Characters were likeable too.

Water, water everywhere…

This had me laughing out loud. Very funny scenarios and dialogue. Made me smile and I loved it.

Hilarious rom com

I enjoyed this story, funny at times and most enjoyable, listened to it in a week. This is the second book I have listened to of Portia’s.

Friendship

love Portias books and this one is even better as the female lead is a bit more switched on than some of others - quite often in the rom com books I cringe to myself about the behaviour of the female leads and/or them being a little dense! This book has plenty of with and charm and Brodie is a clear dreamboat.
the only thing I wish it had was more definition on what happened between Todd and Nicki at the start!

More likable female leads then usual!
