'Wonderfully honest and relatable, and it's also extremely comforting and reassuring too' MIND, No.1 Mental Health charity

'I recommend this for anyone who's looking to find true consistent happiness' Craig David

"This book is a way to release what's going on inside your head and to keep heading towards the good stuff. The simple stuff. The stuff that's going to really hit up that happiness on a deep and nourishing level. Whether you dip into these pages every now and then when you feel you need it, or use it daily as a positive exercise, I hope it brings you much relief, joy and calm. Amen to the pen." - Fearne Cotton

For many of us, life can feel like it's moving too fast with pressure bearing down on us from all sides - whether that's from school or work, family or social media. As a result, we find ourselves frazzled, lost and - too often - feeling blue.

It's a subject close to Fearne's heart. Drawing on her own experiences and including expert advice, HAPPY offers practical ways of finding joy each and every day. Happiness isn't a mountain to climb, it's just one foot in front of the other on the path of life, and here you'll find little steps that will help make the differences that count. With workbook elements to help you start and end the day well; get in touch with your creative side; and find peace through written exercises, simple practical ideas and visualisations, these are daily tricks and reminders to help you unlock that inner happiness.

Critic reviews

Fearne's account is wonderfully honest and relatable, and it's also extremely comforting and reassuring too - knowing that even someone in her position is still working through certain issues - issues that a lot of us are working through too.
Fearne Cotton's new book is full of useful advice on how to live a happier life. (Viv Groskop)
I recommend this for anyone who's looking to find true consistent happiness (Craig David)
She's known for her fun and upbeat presenting style, but Fearne Cotton has also been bravely open about her struggle with depression during some darker points in her life. Already the successful author of recipe book Cook Happy, Cook Healthy, Fearne and her team of experts explain why perfect doesn't exist and teach us tools that can help us find the joy in every day. In our busy 2017 lives that are constantly fuelled by Instagram envy, bad Tinder dates and increasingly outrageous politicians, it's nice to go over the basics of simply being happy.
With advice, exercises, tips and tricks, Fearne's drawn on her own experiences and penned a practical guide to finding joy and unleashing inner happiness.

This book is great, loads of really good information and Fearne is a great narrator, however it just doesn't work as an audiobook as it refers you to PDFs all the time. I listen to audiobooks in the car and it felt like I was missing out on loads of the book. I would say definitely buy the book, but read it rather than listen to the audio.

Great book, doesn't work as an audiobook

I enjoyed listening to Fearne read her story about her quest to become happy and finding out what true happiness is.
I have also had dark times and occasionally have wobbles and cloudy moments so I found this audio helpful in my continued plight to improve my life. It has inspired me to move past these negative times and try and focus on the positive.
I have already started to implement some of the things Fearne recommends/or has taken guidance/comfort etc. Although some of them will take time (learning to love and listen to my body more) other things I have acted on straight away. For example, not allowing the anger to get the better of me. I chose not to be angry. I felt quite empowered even if only for a brief moment!
Happiness truly is a journey and I think whatever floats your boat or helps you get there is worth a try.
For me this audio book was a starting point to get my wonderful brain (a nod to the chapter of appreciating your body) on the right path.
Thank you Fearne.

Being honest I wasn't sure whether to buy this book. Having been lucky enough not to suffer depression or anxiety in my life I really just read it to expand my mind and hear another person's story. However I quickly realised what I had believed wasn't true. I have had glimpses of anxiety, blue and black in my life. I just was lucky enough that those periods past pretty quickly because I am someone who can identify the issue and who then changes my situation, rather than staying stuck in it. I learnt this skill because I didn't have anyone to turn to growing up. So I had to do it myself or sink in it. I believe this book should be available to every kid in school as a starter for ten. It is so practical. It isn't pitched at any one type of person or any one age group. It is honest humanity, no matter what your background. Stick with it if you aren't fortunate enough to have had caring parents, or great friends. It contains excellent advice nonetheless. It actually made me realise that I want to trust people and to belong. Thank you Fearne.

Simple easy listening but very effective.

Fearne Cotton has an easy voice to listen to with happy tones that match the words.

Do expect this to be a busy, engaging book.
A lot of the reviews complain about her "constantly referring to a pdf".
1. It is a book which encourages you actively to reflect on your own life with activity pages. Kind of silly to get angry at that, what did they expect? To simply listen and learn how to be happy without reflection? It's kind of like getting angry at a reading of a colouring book you've got to expect to be active.
2. Dont listen to it if you're driving or busy or know you can't participate in the activity pages yet and if it will only anger you. if you dont mind just listening and accept you can come back to it then you will enjoy it more. Do the pages after.. I listened whilst busy and simply went back to the pdf when I could.

It is a very positive book that has many lessons on happiness and how to navigate that in your own life. It primarily focuses on her and her own experiences, like an autobiography, but still communicates core values and has expressive pages to practice this.

I certainly found it easy to listen too and inspiring and hope you have a similar experience.

Do be ready for references to a pdf. Don't let it bother you, it's not a big deal and you can go through listening without looking at it all, just ignore any references until you're ready.
