Odo (seventh child of the village miller) and Eleanor (always looking for adventure) stumble upon a sword in a dried-up river outside their village. My daughter and grandsons convinced me that this book is definitely a worth a listen! I succumbed! And I think it is brilliant! Not too intense and really good fun,! The characters are superb, and they stick to their character types throughout. The narration was also excellent,......... I've just downloaded the second in the series.

Certainly this sort of book encourages reading in children.
