Two years ago, I weakened and kissed her—the woman who demanded my attention, my obsession, and everything in between. Then my brother walked in with a brutal reminder of why I never should’ve succumbed.

Cutting her loose wasn’t enough. I had to treat her like my enemy.

I should’ve anticipated the rejection bruising her pride. But threatening my company? My family?

She has no idea what she’s done, and I can’t let the transgression go unpunished.

She calls it intimidation. Manipulation. Kidnapping.

To me, it’s a necessary course correction.

I’m more than the polished New York businessman she thinks I am. Hidden beneath the tailored suits and effortless boardroom control is a violent malevolence written into my DNA—the traits of an unwanted legacy from the lethal underworld I’ve distanced myself from since childhood.

And while some heirs acquire wealth and power, I’ve inherited something far more dangerous.

The ability to ruin Isla Cross.

And everything she cares about.

*** Author Note: Heir of Ruin is an anti-hero romance featuring the powerful, morally grey Raffael Cavallo, a heroine caught in a legacy she never consented to, and a relationship built on destruction, obsession, and forced proximity. Expect captive undertones, touch-her-and-die energy, high-stakes power imbalance, and a romance that blurs the line between protection and possession.

Raffael, the baby mafia, denying and hiding his origins but also using them to his advantage.
There is so much he needs to learn and his behaviour and decisions demonstrate that. But the way he fiercely protects Isla and goes off on those that wronged her is truly mafinspired.
Isla, the CEO to be, raised well, believing that everything she was raised to be came without ambiguities and unscrupulousness. When reality finally hits her, she behaves with poise and rationally, like a true woman in business.
Both Raffael and Isla are put through their paces in a book full of twists that just keep on coming very twisty and I was so here for it!!
The yacht timeline is a bit off and confusing but it adds so much to the story.
The main characters were brought to life by Gideon Frost as Raffael and Samantha Brentmoor as Isla. There’s nothing better than a great book being voice acted perfectly becoming an immersive experience where you believe you’re part of the scene, part of the story and feeling how the characters are feeling - this audiobook truly achieved that, for me.
