Really good start to the series, i have read a lot of this authors books and this series sounds interesting. Bree sounds like she will be a complex character and looking forward to getting to know her better in the future books. She was determined to crack the case, i am looking forward to getting to know her methods more in the full length novels.

This is a fantastic look back at the first days of Bree's career as a homicide detective and her partnership with Dana, Bree struggles when this case is eerily similar to her own tragic history. And whilst it shakes her, she also has a unique insight which allows her to crack the case...but not without danger! We know that Bree and Dana have a strong bond, this is the start of that bond, when trust is earned, understanding built and when one saves the life of another.
