Developed by Dr Sue Johnson over 20 years ago and practised all over the world, EFT has been heralded by Time magazine and the New York Times as the couple therapy with the highest rate of success. Couples who use EFT see a 75 per cent success rate.
The therapy programme focuses on the emotional connection of every relationship by de-escalating conflict, creating a safe emotional connection, and strengthening bonds between partners.
In Hold Me Tight, EFT pioneer Dr Sue Johnson presents her highly effective therapy model to the general public for the first time. Through case studies from her practice, illuminating advice and practical exercises, couples will learn how to nurture their relationships and ensure a lifetime of love.

Very well put together

I knew a fair amount about attachment theory before listening to this book, but hearing it put into practice in the context of real relationships (and brilliantly narrated, by Helen Keeley, who has a real gift for conveying difficult emotions) has been a game-changer for me, translating what was merely an academic understanding into something visceral and real. I cried. A lot. There were powerful moments of “Oh my god, that’s me they’re talking about”.
There are a few passages of self-promotion about “the new science of love” that made me think “yeah, yeah, get on with it” and I found the last chapter a bit self-indulgent, but the meat of the book is invaluable and I recommend it without reservation to anyone wishing to understand their relationships and themselves in a deeper way.
Hard to listen to, but worth every minute
