It’s the only book of this series (The Tide) that I’ve listened to (I received a free code from the author), but I didn’t have any issues getting to know the story or the characters.
I liked that the story went places right away, instead of spending ages on trivial things, or needless backstory and/or superfluous romance. The story skipped along at a brisk pace and there was an enjoyable twist to the tale, which I appreciated.
The narrator seemed to have the ability to do a gruff voice for the SEALS, but didn't, which was odd. Overall though, his narration wasn’t bad.
All in all, not a bad novel.
