The book that defined the cyberpunk movement, inspiring everything from The Matrix to Cyberpunk 2077.

The sky above the port was the colour of television, tuned to a dead channel.

William Gibson revolutionised science fiction in his 1984 debut Neuromancer. The writer who gave us the matrix and coined the term 'cyberspace' produced a first novel that won the Hugo, Nebula and Philip K. Dick Awards, and lit the fuse on the cyberpunk movement.

More than three decades later, Gibson's text is as stylish as ever, his noir narrative still glitters like chrome in the shadows and his depictions of the rise and abuse of corporate power look more prescient every day. Part thriller, part warning, Neuromancer is a timeless classic of modern SF and one of the 20th century's most potent and compelling visions of the future.

Every fibre of my being should love this book however, I cannot gel with the story at all just something about it my brain doesn't want to like, which is baffling because the genre is right up my street. Crazy.

Jason Flemyng is great as the narrator and hats off to him.

Great narrator... Poor narrative

performance started lacking in second half. microphone picking up outside conversations. isolate the reading booth better. it started getting very distracting by the end. low rumble speaking overlapping the reader.

Great book. reader not so much

Part of me enjoyed and loved the book, the other part was quite confused about what was actually going on.

I am still not quite sure what to think

Sometimes Audible just does not translate very well and this is one of them, I kept getting lost in the story and it seems like an amazing book and story line, I will have to read the book there is no other way for me,I think this is for those who have read the book and want to revisit the story as the narrator is amazing

Probably better off reading the book

Story is a fantastic example of cyberpunk. Great atmosphere and setting.
I did however, find the audiobook difficult to follow. Sci-fi tech jargon and gangster slang can be hard to get to grips with in this format and I often felt the need to rewind to catch up with what was happening.
Narration is very good other than some odd pacing at points. Lack of clear pausing to indicate a change of scene for example, made it hard to keep track of what was happening and caused some confusion.
Give it a listen if you like sci-fi/cyberpunk, but might be easier to understand in written form.

Great story but hard to follow
