At one time, Dominic Evans was my everything.

That was before everything fell apart.

My parents had warned me he wasn't the right kind of man for me and Dom proved them right.

Now seventeen years later, I'm returning home.

Running from my own mistakes in the form of an abusive, cheating fiancé.

With my trail of bad luck, my car breaks down and Dom is the one who comes to my rescue.

I hate having to rely on him, but I don't have much of a choice.

Next thing I know Dominic sets up a work space for me in his garage; and finds me a job.

Being with Dom is as easy as it used to be and before I know it, we're friends.

One fake date later and all the chemistry and affection that we used to have roars to life.

I know I need to keep my guard up. He broke my heart once and he'll do it again.

But what if this whole time he's been protecting me?

Say Yes to the Fake Date is an enemies-to-lovers, fake dating, second chance, small-town romance.

Lucy hasn't felt Lucky for the last 17 years, and only Dom calls her Lucky, so she hasn't heard it in all that time either. But she doesn't even make it back into town before "running" into him and the years just fall away.
My heart breaks for 18 year old Dom and Lucy and the pain they suffer. It's a heartbreak neither has recovered from, but seeing them spend time together we finally see them begin to heal. They are very definitely better together, happier together, safer together and more complete together. I am so glad that Dom takes the time to break down her walls, he lays his heart out, admits he was wrong, but also explains why he did what he did before begging for forgiveness. He protects Lucy and her feelings at all times, he loves her with everything he is and it shows in every page you read. He makes it impossible to hate him and very difficult to resist him. I love this series and look forward to Chrissy and Gabe's book, I listened to this on Audible.
