Imagine living in a world in which you were routinely patronised by women.

Imagine having your views ignored or your expertise frequently challenged by them.

Imagine trying to speak up in a meeting, only to be talked over by female colleagues.

Imagine subordinates resisting you as a boss, merely because you're a man.

Imagine being trolled by women on social media for daring to express an opinion.

Imagine people always addressing the woman you are with before you.

Now imagine a world in which the reverse of this is true.

The Authority Gap provides a startling perspective on the unseen bias at work in our everyday lives, to reveal the scale of the gap that still persists between men and women. Marshalling a wealth of data with precision and insight, and including interviews with pioneering women such as Baroness Hale, Mary Beard and Bernadine Evaristo, this is a fresh feminist take on how to address and counteract systemic sexism in ways that benefit us all.

An incredible book with extremely valid points. Mary Ann Seighart has accurately hit the nail on the head and provided ample evidence, some of which contain astounding statistics. A wake-up call for any unconscious bias that any person might have and overall an excellent book!

I am so grateful for this book. A must read for everyone!

This book has been meticulously researched and compiled with such care, it makes for staggering reading and has made me think far more objectively about unconscious bias in myself and of others around me.
it is shocking in places, very sad in others but finishes in a practical and positive way.

I hope many men as well as women read this book as I feel the self awareness gained will truly help make the world a better place for all.

Thank you Mary Ann. A fantastic book, highly recommended!

I wouldn’t call it the best book in the genre however there are few interesting take aways. Chapters on why men don’t read books written by women and the queen bee syndrome were a specially good.

Worth a read!
