I wanted to read this because as I’ve gotten older and moved to a new town, making friends has been harder than I expected. I liked how this book talks about adult friendships in a real way, from meeting new people to strengthening the connections you already have. It gave me helpful ideas and reminded me that friendship takes effort, but it is worth making time for. Reading it is giving me more confidence to put myself out there and try. Great advice, very relatable.

After a big move, I felt totally disconnected and unsure how to build a new circle of real, meaningful friendships—not just acquaintances. This really opened my eyes to how much mindset matters and how we often self-sabotage without realizing it. The mix of honest advice, reflection prompts, and communication tips helped me reach out to a few women I'd met at work and in community spaces. Now, I’m seeing real connections forming. It’s helped me show up more intentionally and be less afraid of vulnerability. Wish I’d heard this years ago.

This was so refreshing to listen to with my wife. Things have changed so much in the last 30 years with the rise of the internet and thus, social media, dating sites etc. Many people have become socially withdrawn and building real lasting friendships have taken on new challenges as the 21st century has progressed. Jessica talks about the impact that social media has had on friendships and ways to build lasting online connections. She also has a great chapter on strengthening existing friendships. The most helpful part of the book for her was how to make new friends in real life and not just online. It's something that should be natural but we both feel it's become harder in the last few years. It's a really well written and narrated audiobook.

This audio book offer great information as to how to go about developing meaningful friendships as you grow. It help the reader to understand the different type of friendship and the purpose they serve. Th audio also highlight how friendships have shaped and are shaped by our generation, culture and need. I have two daughter and I believe that the information shared here can be very useful to both. I liked that the book highlights the red flags in order to identify when a friendship is not on you best interest be it in person or through virtual connection in social media.
