"I don't fear death . . . but they do."

Muriel McAuley has lived in the Scottish fishing village of Witchaven all her life. She was born there, and she intends to die there.

But when an overseas property developer threatens to evict the residents from their homes and raze Witchaven to the ground in the name of progress, all seems lost . . . until the day a mysterious fog bank creeps inland.

THE HAAR

To some it brings redemption . . . to others, it brings only madness and death. What macabre secrets lie within . . .

THE HAAR

I listened to this all in one sitting. Couldn’t stop because it was so riveting. The audiobook version of a real page turner. Loved it. Brilliant characters i genuinely cared about and a compelling plot. Didn’t want it to end!

My first Sodergren story but certainly not my last. Not a line is wasted in bringing this horror story to life. Read beautifully also.

A fantastic, gore-drenched horror tale

Loved the characters and hated the ones it wanted you to hate. Even though it had some messed up scenes it was a very heartwarming book about a older lady who loves her late husband

Muriel is just so loveable

This is one audiobook that actually is enlivened by its narrator - a Scots lady who matches the locality and can imbue the lead character with authenticity. Beneath the gore and sadism there beats the heart of a charming and twisted love story and The Haar is worth a listen.
