A star athlete crosses the line from passion into obsession in this darkly addictive hockey-romance novel from USA Today–bestselling author C.R. Jane.

"Give me a second chance, babe . . . and I'll blow your mind."

Monroe doesn't know why she answers the text that's obviously meant for someone else. Or why she keeps answering. Maybe it's because she's all alone in a big city and in desperate need of a lifeline. Or maybe it's because each exchange leaves her intrigued and more than a little turned on.

Still, Monroe never would've snarked back if she'd known she was talking to the "Golden Boy" of the Dallas Knights. She couldn't care less about Lincoln Daniels' hockey-god status, and this only seems to attract him more. He's used to scoring on and off the ice, and now he's obsessed with his next goal: making Monroe his—no matter what it takes.

"Intense" doesn't begin to cover the way Lincoln pursues her. But despite the red flags, Monroe starts to crave the way he makes her feel really, truly wanted . . . Maybe Mr. Wrong Number is actually Mr. Right.

The actors performance was brilliant just a shame the storyline portrayed an abusive toxic relationship.

Disturbing abusive relationship

Absolutely love the Pucking Wrong series. I have read them and also listened to all 3.
Troy Duran never fails to leave his mark on his listeners, his voice is just pure perfection.

Lincoln is unhinged in the best way

This is brilliant tame dark romance, if you’ve never read dark romance this is a good book to start with. The story line is entertaining and over all it’s wrong well apart from the spices scenes they could have done with some serious editing in my opinion they came across random and unfinished.

Tame dark romance.

I went into The Pucking Wrong Number by C.R. Jane expecting a flirty sports romance—and got a full-blown emotional rollercoaster with stalker vibes and scorching heat. The wrong-number texting trope hooked me instantly, and Monroe’s vulnerability made me root for her from the start. Lincoln? He’s the kind of morally grey hockey god who blurs the line between protective and possessive… and somehow makes it hot.

The duet narration by Troy Duran and Alexis Paige was pure gold—his gravel, her softness, the tension between them? Chef’s kiss. It’s dark, it’s spicy, and it’s definitely not your average romcom. I laughed, I cringed, I blushed. And I’d probably listen again just for the chaos.

Perfect if you’re into obsessive anti-heroes and don’t mind a little emotional whiplash.

Obsessed, Offside, and Oh-So-Addictive

Loved the first 3/4 of the story but do think Lincoln got a little bit too toxic towards the end and I was rooting for Munroe to stand up to him. Can't help but feel if she wasn't poor then things would have ended very differently and Lincoln was giving me the ick towards the end.

The male narrator was great, the female was good for the majority and I really liked how she changed her voice to sound different between young and older Munroe. She did sometimes sound like she was shouting and there was some background noise in the recordings too at times.

All in all not a bad story. Probably wouldn't recommend it and not going to listen or read the sequals but it was an interesting enough listen.

A Wild Ride
