It must be 20 years since I last read this novel. It is still a lovely story, but starting to show its age I think. There were parts where the improbability and tweeness, became almost too much, but overall it’s quite enchanting.
However, I have no idea why the narrator was selected for the job. As a fairly well-known actress it can’t have been for economic reasons, but her voice is completely wrong for the eras this book covers and her mispronunciation of so many words was infuriating. I can only believe the producers never listen or edit anything once it’s been recorded. Such a disappointment for such a classic.

I love this book and having it read toe was blissful.
my only complaint is despite the (American) narrator's very good English accent her inability to pronounce some words correctly was irksome to say the least!

This book was a delight, although a long listen I found myself captivated by the well written characters and couldn't wait for the next instalment. The narrator, Hayley Atwell is very easy to listen to. I will be putting more Rosamunde Pilcher books on my wish list.

Brilliant .The best audiobook I have listened to. I vaguely remembered reading the book many years ago and to hear it again with Hayley Atwell reading it was sheer pleasure.

This is the first Rosamunde Pilcher I have listened to and I absolutely loved it. Cosy, comforting and snug, beautiful story and I went off and bought a physical copy! I am now on another one of her books and I suspect I will enjoy them all. Excellently narrated by Hayley Atwell, I loved it. if you want a lovely read and a feel good factor this is where you need to be.
