Patisserie-chef Stevie is stuck in a rut. Her beloved Great Aunt Peggy has passed away and she’s lost both her job and the love of her life. Then she gets the call from the solicitor's office about Peggy’s will and everything changes.

When Stevie sees a quirky tea shop up for sale in the beautiful village of Tanglewood, she decides to take Peggy’s advice and turn her life around.

Story was ok but, if I am honest, the main character annoyed me with her silly behaviour. She came across as stupid and an unlikely match for the male lead. I listened to it all, but only because I had given up on my previous book, so felt I must see it through. I would be interested to see if Lilac's other books are better.

A kind, soft wholesome story BUT totally destroyed by the narrator, no emotion, no change of pace and a changing of each character’s tone. It was a book that I was going to no finish but tried again and again. Please don’t use this narrator again

Not sure if it was the narrator or the way the character was written. But she was weak and a bit daft. I found this fairly annoying and stopped listening halfway through which is completely unlike me.
Maybe a different narrator and slight change of the somewhat childlike main female character.

Characters' accents changed throughout the story. Sometimes sounding Scottish, Irish or English, but rarely Welsh.
