'Beware of waking the gods, their dreams are often our nightmares . . .'

A prince who prefers games of the head to those of the heart.

Prince Sloth hates leaving his enchanted library, but when a forgotten deity threatens the very fabric of the Underworld, he's thrust into a race against time. He must find the Book of Nightmares - an ancient artifact that has the power to break worlds - before it unleashes a deadly game to free its master, the Goddess of Night. When a betrayal leaves him marked, and desperate, his path collides with a young woman who possesses the legendary Phoenix Tear - a portal stone unlike any other.

A librarian who is all sweet sunshine . . . until she burns.

Lore Brimstone has always loved getting lost in a book - but she never meant literally. Yet, after visiting a traveling caravan, she quickly finds herself transported to a terrifying but oddly familiar world - with a calculating prince at her side. Realizing they are living out her favourite novels one by one, they face off against an increasingly dark magic as they try to survive the story.

A twisted tale that means they can't trust themselves - or their hearts.

As Lore and Sloth navigate the pages of her beloved novels gone wrong, she must channel her inner main character to defeat the Book of Nightmares before the wall between the gods and mortals comes crashing down, dooming them all.©2026 Kerri Maniscalco

I have thoroughly enjoyed all of the 'Prince of sin' books and this one certainly doesn't disappoint either! The amount of times I laughed out loud, smirked or had to take a deep breath whilst listening to this book would have had others questioning my sanity. It's a fun journey with humerously accurate stereotypes mixed with original twists and a fast paced plot.
I honestly cannot wait for the next book!

Absolutely fantastic

I rarely like dual POV, the narrators are simply great. When they read a dialogue it does not become a super annoying roleplay. It is engaging style without being too much.

The story overall is nice, though not very original, but engages you well enough. It could have been 1/3rd shorter, there was a lot of unnecessary time extension. The mate aspect was mehh. (like why?)

I did not really like the main characters, it felt like the princes are all written the same, and the FMC felt more like a booktoker than a reader. Anytime I read main character energy, I cringed.

I really hope the writer gets back to her originality, that characterised Kingdom of the wicked, especially the language used.

An OK/Nice story saved by the narrators, hope the series finds its roots again

I loved the Kingdom Of The Wicked series and the first two Prince Of Sin books so this was high on my list of most anticipated books for this year and I loved it, it was a fun fairytale and definitely a love letter to all romance and romantasy readers, I smiled the whole way through, laughed and swooned, I loved Sloth and Lore, the story was great, just a thouroughly enjoyable book, I'm also hoping by the epilogue that the Prince of Lust might be next and that we don't have to wait too long 🤞

Loved it

I did like this story, but.... it was very long winded in places and I nearly DNF it....
The hardest area for me was the bit with the four horsemen- I felt like the author was trying to tell us what she meant and it was all confusing and the words just became too much! I love the whole mate thing, but it felt a bit rushed that he got bitten by a vampire and suddenly they're mates....I don't know I just felt like that part of the book could have been written by someone else... it was just a bit weird.
Anyway I have loved all the books in this series and happy Sloth got his book. ☺️
Narration was good! 🙌

It’s perfect for any book lover who’s ever dreamed of being pulled into their own story. The main character finds herself inside the world, which makes it such a fun and addictive read.
It had me laughing throughout, with the perfect mix of humour, chaos, and romance.
And the slow burn… it just keeps building and building in the best way 😍
Honestly, I loved this book. It gave me that “I wish this was me” feeling the entire time.
Definitely a must-read if you love fantasy romance with a bit of fun and a self-aware main character.

completely brilliant
