I always enjoy Michael Robotham' books he is a good storyteller and has a real understanding of the psychological underpinning to crime and criminal motivation. This is the second in the Cyrus Haven series and as good as the first and starts to build a picture of Evie Cormac's origins and what lead up to her being found in the secret room. My main beef with both of these books is the narration it is awful why would anyone have a man voice a teenage girl? I am sure Joe Jameson is a good narrator but it totally spoils the books he sounds really odd as Evie. If Evie was narrated by a woman these books would be totally elevated. PLEASE rethink the narration if there is a third book. On a final note these books are very dark focused on child abuse and human trafficking so not a light listen by any means.

A good story, quite disturbing, but tense and enjoyable. There were some times when I was a disappointed in a reaction, or an action as I thought 'he/she wouldn't have thought or done that' but good overall.

Wonderfully written by Michael Robotham, & Brilliantly narrated by Joe Jameson, the story entwines two tragic pasts, but leaves just the right amount to your imagination. Couldn’t stop listening.
