Val Espin's estranged father, Michael, dies with a request in his last will and testament for his son to scatter his ashes at the Stone Age tomb that he spent his life researching and writing books about. Begrudgingly, Val respects his father's final wishes and takes his urn to West Kennet Long Barrow to perform the ceremony as requested at Samhuinn, the Pagan festival of the dead.

While ingesting the Fly Agaric hallucinogenic mushroom that ancient Shaman's used for their vision quests, Val experiences a harrowing journey that puts his very soul on the line. He learns of an ancestral blood debt that must be settled, as well as atoning for his father's sudden demise. Under the influence of the mushroom, he travels back in time to the Neolithic era in which the house of the dead, or so-called "Womb Tomb", was built, learning of its true and foul purpose far too late to alter his course....

I’ve been fascinated by long barrows since my teens and was hooked from beginning to end by this unusual horror story. I was impressed with the writer’s historical research and ability to transport me to an entirely different, but believable, world countless centuries ago. To say that the story sent shivers down my spine is an understatement! I listened to Womb Tomb on a road trip to Glastonbury with my cousin and we were on edge all the way. We actually visited West Kennet Longbarrow on our return journey which made it even more creepy. What an awesome title- would love to see it made into a movie! Great for horror fans.

A spine tingler!
