In Acts 4:32-5:16 we see a church that is deeply united in heart and no one, not one single person had a need. We see radical acts of generosity prompted by the Holy Spirit to care for the new emerging church - the body of believers. Then, just as quickly we see the pure heart motives and choices of one person, quickly turning into God exposing bad motives and impure intentions on the part of others.

Part of today's discussion involves looking at the different schools of thought around what took place with Annanias and Sappihra. We look at what Scripture actually says and draw some conclusions regarding discernment, heart attitudes, and the importance of guarding our hearts.

As we continue with our We are the Church series in Acts 4:1-31, Luke continues the thoughts and story he shared in Acts chapter 3. Peter and John continue to CHOOSE BOLDNESS OVER Fear. Several hours into their conversation with those gathered around them after the miraculous healing of the lame man, the temple police show up and arrest them along with the healed man. Yet even more was added to the church.

When we partner with the Holy Spirit He brings extra everything and adds it to our ordinary making it extraordinary. Peter refused to be intimidated, fearful, and he didn't bow his knee but chose to speak the truth of Jesus Christ as directed by the Holy Spirit, and we need to follow Peter's lead today.

Acts 3 is a glimpse into what Luke wrote in Acts 2:43, "Everyone was filled with awe at the many signs and wonders performed by the Apostles." But it is more than that.

This chapter is about taking the time for the ONE and responding to the Spirit of God to minister salvation, healing and deliverance. It is also about the power and authority in the name of Jesus Christ of Nazareth. Not only does Jesus' name carry authority, it carries power. Power to touch the lives of the physically and spiritually poor, lame and sick. Peter and John are empowered again by the power of the Holy Spirit to preach and perform a miracle which adds at least 5,000 to the church that day.

I am honored and ecstatic to have my husband John Kitterman join me on the podcast for the very first time! If the Bride of Christ is to mature and prepare for our bridegrooms return things need to change. Welcome to our 7th and final week of the Navigating the Chaos Series! This episode is power-packed as Amie and I discuss the many ways our culture has changed over the last 250 years here in America and around the world.

The world seems to get more chaotic day after day, but what does the Bible say about how we, as Christ followers, are to navigate life in this world amid the chaos? We discuss the different approaches people take to engaging with the culture around them, and then dive deep into what Jesus said and did to engage the culture around Him. We, as believers, need to learn to be dolphins, not jellyfish, as we ride the waves of culture. (This dolphin/jellyfish example came from John Piper, and it is a fitting one.) Godly and covenantal relationships are powerful. Relationships are also messy but an essential part of our life. In fact, we were created for relationships with God and others. The enemy will stop at nothing to turn us against God, brother against brother, and child against parents, because he knows a kingdom, a family divided can not stand(Mk 3;@5; Lk 11:17). The Bible tells us to expect chaos and disunity, but that a friend loves at all times(Prov 17:17)
