In this episode of New Fashioned Conservatives, two semi-involved Wisconsin guys start off with the big unity GOP convention.

The hosts then dig deep into the property tax deal that has now completely fallen through, breaking down every angle of the negotiations, the political posturing, and why it ultimately collapsed even though nobody outside the Capitol seemed to be asking for it in the first place.

They shift to local races and talk about the Winnebago County sheriff candidate who isn’t a cop in the slightest, questioning what that means for public safety in the area.

In this episode of New Fashioned Conservatives, two semi-involved Wisconsin guys react to former Gov. Tommy Thompson’s strong endorsement of Tom Tiffany for governor — a major boost that helps lock in Republican unity heading into 2026.

They also slam the new “poll” pushing to oust Wisconsin GOP Chairman Brian Schimming, calling out Turning Point USA for what they see as opportunistic timing right when the party is finally starting to come together.

The hosts highlight the latest ICE detainer in Dane County: a criminal who assaulted an elderly patient in a nursing home. They point out the blunt reality — if a Democrat wins the governor’s race, this person (and others like him) gets released back into Wisconsin communities.
