The bunch of us were communicating via faxes, Fed Ex, and phone calls, neither of which were very secure. And when editor Bob Budiansky discovered that DC had somehow intercepted a series of vital X-Men communiques down the hall, he insisted we develop a multilayered code to talk with one another. That's when Tom went off and created the unbreakable Clone Code. Some of us still speak it today.
