  • Episode 107: The Itty Bitty Nitty Gritty with Claire & Kitty Episode 22
    Jun 18 2026

Welcome to episode 107 and another instalment of the Itty Bitty Nitty Gritty with Claire and Kitty!
This month your hosts sink their teeth into culinary crimes and food-related felonies.
Claire starts off with the case of the KFC murders - an armed robbery that turned into an abduction and the execution-style killing of five people in Texas in 1983. It would take authorities 20 years to charge two of the offenders but would be an additional two decades before they could identify the final perpetrator.
Then to lighten the mood, Kitty tells the story of the seafood chowder that caused chaos among the cast and crew on the film set of the Titanic in 1996.

  • Episode 106: The Cape Grim Massacre
    Jun 4 2026

Welcome to episode 106, in which Ben takes a leaf out of Claire's book and explores a historical Tasmanian crime story.
Venturing back more than 200 years, sealers working along the coastline had already been in contact with Aboriginal tribes, mainly to steal their women.
So when a large part of the state's North-West corner was taken over by the Van Diemen's Land Company to set up a grazing operation, tensions continued to rise with the Indigenous population - coming to a head with a horrendous attack that became known as the Cape Grim Massacre.
Then to finish things off, Claire marks Sir David Attenborough's recent 100th birthday with a story about a discovery made on the legendary BBC nature documentarian's London property that helped solve part of a gruesome Victorian murder mystery...

  • Episode 105: Tammie Rickard
    May 21 2026

Welcome to episode 105, in which Ben and Claire are first joined by forensic psychologist Sam to briefly follow up on a query that arose from the University of Texas tower shooting episode.
Claire then tells the story of 25-year-old Tammie Rickard, who went missing after walking home from a Launceston pub in 1999. Hear about the circumstances of the university student's disappearance and the police investigation that was starting to close in on the man responsible. Then the episode features another surprise cameo appearance to give a first-hand account of the perpetrator's arrest.
Ben then puts his average IQ to work by sharing some facts about differing degrees of murder, vehicular and assault charges.
