Many of today’s Christian teachings on divorce are built on the assumption that Jesus changed or altered the Law of Moses. But is that what the Scriptures actually teach?

In this episode of The Divorced Christian Podcast Show, we examine the biblical evidence and consider an often-overlooked truth: the Law of Moses expressly prohibited anyone from adding to or taking away from God’s commandments (Deuteronomy 12:32). If that is true, could Jesus have changed the Law? And if He didn’t, why do so many modern interpretations assume that He did?

We’ll explore why Jesus was never accused of altering the Law of Moses during His earthly ministry and how His teaching on divorce fits within the Law rather than replacing it. We’ll also examine whether some Christian traditions have attributed changes to Jesus that the Scriptures themselves do not support.
