A mural that's putting Pines Men's Shed on the map, on The Shed Wireless podcast What happens when a Men's Shed meets a talented street artist? Marty heads to Pines Men's Shed in Frankston, Victoria, to meet President Brian and muralist Tyson Savanah (Father Marker), the artist behind a massive mural that's turning heads and helping put the shed firmly on the map. From community spirit and creativity to coffee, donuts and plenty of unsolicited advice from shedders, it's a great story about what can happen when local talent and local community come together. Robert Golluch joins JPY all the way from Canada on The Shed Wireless podcast

One of the great things about the Men's Shed movement is that it started right here in Australia, but these days you'll find sheds popping up all over the globe.

This Shedder in the Spotlight joins us all the way from Canada. Robert Golluch is President of the Canadian Men's Shed Association, and his Men's Shed journey started much like many others — he retired, went looking for something to do and wandered into a local shed thinking he'd make a bit of sawdust.

A few years later he found himself leading a movement that's now spread to more than 200 sheds across Canada. From repair cafes and woodworking projects to maple syrup and community connections, Robert joins John Paul Young to talk about the Canadian take on Men's Sheds.

Rip Woodchip shares some unexpected wisdom about losing his licence on The Shed Wireless podcast

What happens when the day comes to hand over the car keys?

For many blokes, it's about more than just driving. Rip Woodchip reflects on independence, pride and staying connected when getting from A to B suddenly isn't as simple as it used to be. As always, he finds a few laughs along the way and reminds us that there's more than one road to the shed.

  • Nepean -- Green Shed Award: Shed Wireless 2026 Awards Special
    Apr 24 2026

Hello and welcome back to the Shed Wireless podcast.

We have a very special episode for you today – bringing you chats with the winners of the recent 2026 National Shed Awards! I was privileged to attends the awards presentation night at the National Gathering in Brisbane and meet the award winders in person.

And – I also sang a few tunes at the dinner – what a great night. But enough of that – let’s talk to the winners and find out about the projects that scored them the award! First up we have the Green Shed award, which recognises a project or activity that puts the environment or recycling at its heart. There were so many great entries in this category that the judges couldn’t decide on one winner -so they awarded two. Today I’m talking to Alan Reid from the Nepean Men’s Shed on the outskirts of Sydney. G’day Alan.
