Eine hundert Seiten lange Rede. Die Narrheit in Person hält über sich und den Rest der Welt einen Vortrag. Dieses Werk aus dem Jahre 1509, begründet eine Union der Narren und Dummies. Erasmus' Sprachspiele, seine Späße, die Seitenhiebe auf die Zeitgenossen sind zeitlos gut.

Erasmus von Rotterdam (1466-1536) war Theologe, Priester, Philologe und Autor mehrerer Werke. Er schrieb lateinisch und griechisch. Dieses Hörbuch enthält den Lesung "Das Lob der Torheit" (Sprecher: Ernst August Schepmann, Übersetzer: Heinrich Hersch, Regie: Robert Haupt, Erstsendung: 22.06.1969), den Dialog "Welt im Umbruch": ein Gespräch zwischen Luther (Sprecher: Peter Lieck) und Erasmus (Sprecher: Friedrich von Bülow), das sinnähnlich in Briefen geführt wurde (Erstsendung: 01.11.1983) sowie die Lesungen "Heuchelei" (Sprecherin: Dorothee Roth, Erstsendung: 13.11.1983).
