Carl Greer, PhD, PsyD is a retired clinical psychologist and a Jungian analyst, a businessman, a shamanic practitioner, and a philanthropist, funding over 60 charities and more than 2,000 past and current Greer Scholars. He received his PhD from Columbia University and was on its faculty teaching finance and management in its graduate school of business. He moved to Chicago to work for an oil company, and after focusing on business for many years, he earned a doctorate in clinical psychology before becoming a Jungian analyst. The shamanic work he does is drawn from a blend of North American and South American indigenous trainings and is influenced by Jungian analytical psychology. He has trained with Peruvian shamans and through Dr. Alberto Villoldo’s Healing the Light Body School, where he has been on staff. He has worked with shamans in South America, the United States, Canada, Australia, Ethiopia, and Outer Mongolia. Carl Greer is involved in various businesses and charities. He has taught at the C. G. Jung Institute of Chicago, been on the staff of the Replogle Center for Counseling and Well-Being, and held workshops on Jungian and shamanic topics. All four of his books have won book awards, including (but not limited to): A Coalition of Visionary Resources Book Award for Best Contemporary Spirituality Book for Change Your Story, Change Your Life A Body, Mind, Spirit Awards winner in 3 categories (shamanism, energy healing, and Gaia and earth energy healing) for Change the Story of Your Health A Silver Nautilus Book Award in the category of Inner Prosperity and Right Livelihood for The Necktie and the Jaguar A Gold Nautilus Book Award in the category of Personal Growth and Self-Help (small publisher) along with a Coalition of Visionary Resources Book Award in the category of Journals and a National Indie Excellence Gold Award in the category of Body-Mind-Spirit for his book Go Within to Change Your Life.
