Jon Wynn is professor of sociology at the University of Massachusetts Amherst. He has written The Tour Guide: Walking and Talking New York (2011), Music/City: American Festivals and Placemaking in Austin, Nashville, and Newport (2015), and co-authored The City & The Hospital: The Paradox of Medically Underserved Communities (2023) and The Urban Way (2027). His work has also appeared in The Guardian, The Atlantic, Salon, The Washington Post, and other venues. The Set Up (2025) is his first novel.
