LARRY TERHAAR- BIO I'm honored and humbled to announce that three books in the Detective Dan Burnett series have won the Literary Titan Gold Book Award: AGAINST THE BLUE WALL, BREATH PLAY, and TRACKING ARIANA. I am also thrilled to announce that AGAINST THE BLUE WALLand TRACKING ARIANA have won the Global Book Award. Since retiring from a career in real estate development, I’ve become infatuated with writing, renewing a childhood passion. In 2021, when the Champlain Towers condominium in Surfside, FL, collapsed, I felt compelled to apply my life experience and write about it. When researching the tragedy, I initially thought it would be a non-fiction account, but soon, my imagination took over, resulting in my first novel, OCEANSIDE. There was quite a learning curve, but after working with some professional editors, I now wake up each morning with a scene or passage that I just have to get down on paper. As I continue to refine my craft, I’ve published four private detective novels: ONCE A DETECTIVE..., AGAINST THE BLUE WALL, BREATH PLAY, and TRACKING ARIANA. That is the genre I enjoy reading most, influenced by Robert B. Parker, Michael Connelly, Robert Crais, and many others. In 2000, I became fascinated with ocean sailing and have owned three sailboats since then. I have sailed the western Atlantic and Caribbean seas multiple times from Maine to Grenada and every place in between, living aboard for much of that time with our austrailian shepherd. I'm also working on a Bahamas Sailing Novel, once again drawing on my knowledge and experience. I grew up in Westport, CT, where I married Beth, my high school sweetheart. We have two married sons and have been blessed with two grandsons who are growing up much too fast! While still living in CT during the summer, we spend our winters on Hutchinson Island, FL.
