Lucy Ribchester was born in Edinburgh. She studied English at the University of St Andrews, graduating with First Class Honours and went on to gain a Masters in Shakespearean Studies at Kings College London and Shakespeare's Globe. In 2013 she won a Scottish Book Trust New Writers Award and in 2015 was shortlisted for the Costa Short Story Award. She is the author of two novels, The Hourglass Factory and The Amber Shadows.
