Todd Otis is a published author, student of history, former state legislator, and currently a leader in the Democracy movement in Minnesota. Born in 1945 to a family deeply involved in civic life, Otis graduated from Harvard, with a major in American History in 1967. After two years of service in the Peace Corp in Senegal, he obtained an MS degree from the Columbia School of journalism in 1970. During his 12 year service in the Minnesota House of Representatives, he wrote A Review of Nuclear Energy in the United States (Praeger, 1981). Otis spent much of his career advocating for policies that improve early childhood development in Minnesota. He co-chairs Clean Elections Minnesota, a non-profit organization dedicated to expanding Democracy, fighting disinformation, and curbing the role of big money in campaigns. Todd and his partner live in Minneapolis and have five children and eight grandchildren.
