Maximus Drago is out searching for supplies for his mother when he ends up in a fight for his life. Injured, he ends up saving a legendary creature, then bonds with it. After he heals, he has no idea of what life has for him, but fate has decided on what he has to become.

Maximus has just returned to his home from his plight within the Amazon Kingdom with the knowledge that they do not have an alliance with the Amazons. After the death of their queen, the princess stepped in and told the Army of Races to leave. Max thought that he would have some time to relax once he settled back into his role at SafeHaven. Previously, Max and his people created SafeHaven: a fortress within the forest of his lands. With the precious metals mined from the mountain that he has found, his merchants and advisors are buying all the land, shops, and resources they can all over Augustia to prepare for the upcoming war. He is also giving his people wages and a life even though they will be called at some point in the future to fight for their world. Max bonds with more elementals and begins to learn what his magic can do, but his scouts picked up disturbing news.
